Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops: Upcoming Events

16th Annual Troops in the Spotlight Beginning Sunday May 24th at 11:30am
thru Monday May 25th ending at noon
@ Cape Wind Plaza Route 132 Hyannis, MA.

You can come for 10 minutes, an hour, the afternoon, evening, anytime... 24 hours straight thru event to honor our military.

This is a great family event. Opening Ceremony will honor our WW2, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan Veterans. A special ceremony beginning at 3pm.(Sunday) will honor our Vietnam Veterans. The Department of Defense recognizes Cape Cod Cares for the Troops a Commemorative Partner to appreciate and honor our Vietnam War Veterans for their service, valor and sacrifice. We invite all Vietnam War Veterans to participate in this ceremony. Each veteran will be introduced, thanked for their service, presented with a gift, and then officially welcomed home. After a short ceremony the Official Vietnam War Commemoration Flag will be presented and proudly flown until the closing ceremony of Troops in the Spotlight. The is invited and encouraged to be part of this event and give our Veterans the welcome home they never received. it's never too late for a grateful nation to thank and honor our Vietnam Veterans.

Join us for a BBQ lunch, send a video message to our deployed troops, donate items for care packages, visit the Iraq/Afghanistan Memorial Wall, Kid's Tent ( with arts & crafts, games, free raffles, and face painting), tour many types of military vehicles, support the troops raffles, music, car show (from 4-7pm), midnight ceremony to honor the beginning of Memorial Day, sign our Support the Troops Banner which will be sent to one of our deployed units. More to be announced...

You can help by bringing items needed for care packages, make a monetary donation, write out a few cards and letters to go in our care packages, and most of all please plan to attend anytime during this 24 hour event.

"Cape Flyer" passenger train will provide FREE transportation from Boston's South Station to Hyannis, making several stops along the way.

If you are a military member or veteran we are looking for volunteers to stand for a one hour shift. Uniform is required. Please send an email to capecod4thetroops@comcast.net for more info.

4th Annual "Coffee and Cars"
honoring PFC Paul Colon
Sunday August 9th beginning at 9am thru noon
K-Mart Parking Lot, Hyannis, MA.

Cars, Coffee, Music, Raffles, Food, Dash Plaques, and Awards! All makes, models, years, and clubs welcome. Motorcycles too! General public will vote on winners. ALL proceeds will benefit Cape Cod Cares for the Troops.

10th Annual SGT Mark Vecchione Rock Harbor Fishing Trip
Sunday August 30th

SGT Vecchione was born and raised on Cape Cod, he was the first Cape Cod military member KIA in Iraq. To honor Mark, CCC4TT and Rock Harbor Fishing Charters host a FREE day of fishing to Iraq/ and/or Afghanistan Veterans. Deep sea fishing boats are filled with veterans, sent out on Cape Cod Bay for four hours of fishing, and then return for a BBQ at the Orleans/Eastham Elks Club.

All interested Iraq/Afghanistan Veterans can apply by email starting July 1st (2018) send an email to capecod4thetroops@comcast.net to confirm. Please include your name, military unit, dates of deployment, and a contact phone number. Each Veteran may bring one guest. Families are welcome to attend the BBQ where there will be games for kids, horseshoes, raffles, and much more. This is a great day life long memories of fishing and fun.

12th Annual Canal Run for the Troops

Saturday October 3rd beginning at 10am
Buzzards Bay Recreational Park - Bourne, MA.

- 5K & 10K run along the Cape Cod Canal professional timed by Finish Line Management.
